Why it exists
Most live streaming apps chase view counts. This one hides them on purpose, because a reporter is paid when a newsroom picks the footage up, not for how many people watched.
Point your phone at what is happening and go live. The stream becomes a pin on The Dispatch's live map, and footage a newsroom picks up can pay the person who filmed it.

Idea
The map needed a way to see anything live at all
The Dispatch's live map already carried real time traffic, weather, and transit. Crime and fire had nothing live, because no public feed for either one exists.
The only honest way to fill that gap was someone on the scene, not a scraper.

Built
Native, streaming through Cloudflare, no view counts
The app streams over RTMPS into Cloudflare, which turns it into a feed the map and the reader app can both play back.
View counts are hidden everywhere on purpose. Payout is tied to a newsroom picking footage up, not to how many people watched, so nothing in the app rewards performing for a crowd.
Dispatch Live has its own address.
tnaado.ca/live-go is the app's own site, and it is where the launch gets announced.
